Is a Bite-Sized Behavior Consult Right for Your Cat?

These consults are perfect for:

  • Cats exhibiting problem behaviors such as intercat or human-directed aggression, litter box issues, inappropriate scratching, fears, or anxiety, needing focused behavioral support
  • Pet parents looking for a gentle introduction to behavioral treatment options
  • Veterinarians seeking collaborative guidance for feline patients
  • Cats who haven't shown expected improvement with initial treatments, requiring further evaluation for a tailored approach

However, if your primary veterinarian is uncomfortable providing follow-up care, we recommend scheduling a Behavior Health Assessment with our Veterinary Behavior Specialist for comprehensive support.

How to Schedule Your Cat's Behavior Consult

Getting started is easy! Here’s how to book your session:

  1. Your primary veterinarian submits the Veterinary Referral Form online, and the Bite-Sized Behavior Consult form is automatically sent to you.
  2. You'll fill out and submit the Bite-Sized Behavior Consult online form so we can get to know your cat's specific needs.
  3. Once we receive the form, our client care coordinator will reach out to schedule your appointment. The consult price is $295 which must be prepaid when scheduling, with a $150 non-refundable fee.
  4. During the consult, we’ll share strategies to manage your cat’s behavior, enhance the bond between you and your feline friend, and guide you in finding an appropriate trainer if needed.
  5. After the session, you’ll receive a summary along with educational resources. Your veterinarian will get necessary medication recommendations and recheck schedules if required.

To keep these consults accessible, we don’t offer direct follow-up with clients following the appointment; your primary veterinarian will provide ongoing support, including implementing any medication plans. If your cat’s response is not as expected, we may suggest a referral for a Veterinary Behavior Health Assessment to explore their needs further.
