Who Can Benefit from Thermal Imaging?
Thermal imaging can be particularly useful for patients who:
- Exhibit Concerning Behaviors: If your pet is showing signs of discomfort or altered behavior, thermography can help identify underlying pain.
- Have Undetermined Pain Sources: For pets suspected of being in pain, but where the specific area is difficult to localize, thermal imaging provides clarity.
- Struggle with Restraint: For pets who are challenging to restrain or touch, this non-invasive method ensures a safer examination.
- Are High Risk for Sedation: If your pet has a higher risk of complications from sedation, thermography offers a safe alternative for imaging.
- Are Undergoing Physiotherapy: Evaluate the effectiveness of physiotherapy or other treatments to monitor progress and adjust care as needed.

How Does Thermal Imaging Work?
Using a medical-grade infrared camera and specialized software, we capture thermal images of your pet. These images reveal variations in heat distribution, which can indicate areas of inflammation or pain. The entire process is safe, as no harmful particles or rays are emitted, and clients are encouraged to be present and involved during the imaging.
Once the thermal imaging is completed, referring veterinarians will receive a detailed report that includes representative thermal images, interpretations, and correlations with the information provided in the referral form. It is the referring veterinarian's responsibility to communicate the findings to the client.

Cost and Availability
Thermal imaging services are currently available for canine patients at a cost of $150. We plan to expand this service to include other species in the future.
By utilizing thermal imaging, we can help uncover hidden health issues that may contribute to behavioral challenges, ensuring that your pet receives the best possible care. If you're interested in learning more or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us today!
